I don't know a terrible amount about how well this would actually
work to learn how to theme Drupal (as I've never had to mess with
creating a theme) but I'd suggest that some motivated individual
from the design team get Drupal running on their local machine and
install the Zen theme <http://drupal.org/project/zen> and have a
party. If anyone needs help setting up a stock Drupal install
give a shout and I can help. I have to run now, but I suppose it
would be good to copy this to the design mailing list too
