Re: Poloraid action list added to library

This sounds awesome and I'll look at it after work.

I was going to model the "montage maker" (maybe it should be called a collage maker) after Picasa's. Picassa offers fixed width, unbordered and polaroid effect.

So the collage maker only needs to know layout the collage as random or grid. Phatch is very flexible - other actions can handler borders and so on.

Goodness, we could even have an FTP action to post the output files. (shhhssss Robin - you're volunteering for too much work again).

Hi,

The effect result is amazing. I'm really impressed. And I like what you did to the highlight action. I just have two notes: * Would you change the the save path to somewhere outside the source folder? It will be annoying for anyone who run the same actionlist over and over again with different settings. Right now you have to delete the results before running the actionlist again. * I noticed that the month and week days names are all in small letters. I think it is better to capitalize the first letter.

Other than that, wow just wow. I can't wait to see users responses to this :)

Best Regards,
Nadia

I thought a Polaroid action list would be a good test case for the
variable border action. So I googled some tutorials and made the
action list. This gave some inspiration for improvements:
- Highlight action: I added an opacity field. The highlight action as
it was until now, was ideal for glossy web2.0 style badges. However
for subtle photo reflections the highlights were to strong. So I added
an opacity field which uses the ImageMath module.
- Variable border: when an image has an alpha mask and the borders are
positive, the action should use that mask instead.
- pil.py: when the exif tags are not writable (png), the image should
be saved in its orientation (this means rotated).
Please try to polaroid action list (available from File>Library) and
let me know if you see improvements.
Enjoy,
Stani
