Hi,

using setuptools created a lot of problems (see bug #258640), I've made
the switch to distutils and pushed it to trunk. 

I think that (and a few minor corrections) would be an opportunity to
release 0.3.1 as a minor release, to address those problems.

I don't mean to make the release just yet, but it'd be a good idea to
create a 0.3.1 milestone, branch, etc. I can't, I don't have permissions
on launchpad.
