Stefano Borini confirmed that the question is solved:
I will take a look at it. I have python 2.4 as a development target, and
I need quantities for my library. I could provide an unofficial fork for
python 2.4 and try to maintain it, if it's not that difficult, otherwise
I will have to upgrade all my runtime to python 2.5. I will take a look
at it tomorrow and decide.
