To be honest, I don't think that's the right approach for our project. What
I told them is that it is fine as long as they use it consistent with
standard use of a trademark. I don't really know what it would mean to ask
them to use our logo in their brochure in a way consistent with the GPL.
That I want access to the Photoshop source document of the brochure?
Also, the GPL assumes you're going to follow it. There is no preliminary
step to using or distributing GPL software, other than making the source
available. A preliminary discussion of that point is extraneous. You can't
preemptively deny them use of the software.
But ultimately, we very much want commercial redistribution of SchoolTool.
It is a fundamental goal of the project, and the GPL provides us with ample
protection. We certainly don't want to frustrate vendor participation by
coming up with additional nitpicks.
Also, they don't have to mention they're using SchoolTool, as long as they
follow the GPL, they can completely rebrand SchoolTool however they want.
Using our logo is advertising for our project. It is helpful.
