Re: PA

Hi all -

Re: lists. New to this kind of coordination (surprise!) so I'm open to any
suggestions.
Right now linux@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is a google group that also sends to
scratch@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

It sounds like it would be good if assembla also mailed to the
linux@scratchlist. I'll see about setting that up.

I filed a bug against the current VM package, also requesting upgrade.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/squeak-vm/+bug/517663

..after asking if the updated version was likely to make it into Lucid here:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/squeak-vm/+question/99934

Haven't heard anything conclusive.
Any help on how to navigate this world would be greatly appreciated - I'd
thought such a question would constitute contacting the vm maintainer, but
perhaps I'm going about it the wrong way.

At this point I think we're just going to try to submit the package as it is
(with bundled VM), and hope the MOTU's will allow it. The deadline is next
Friday, so I want to get something in even if we have to try and change it
down the road, which I hope won't be too hard.

re: Adding Scratchplugin to Squeak. John and I spoke about this. It's fine
to include that code with the VM under any license you like. But it seems
like the Scratch package should include / use its own version of the plugin
in case we have to update it / make changes that follow updates / fixes /
new versions of Scratch. So since it's only used just for Scratch, it
doesn't seem like getting into the squeak package is a high priority - but
there are no objections to it on our end.
