[Bug 882183] Re: Application closes unexpectedly as soon as I select "exists" or "find".

Sorry about your problems.

What locale are you running?

You should use Sikuli-IDE.bat to start the IDE.

Forget the executables .skl. They are totally useless especially for beginners. They are only a zipped version of the .sikuli folder, cannot be edited again and provoke to double-click (which starts the Sikuli-IDE.exe, which in turn might make the problems).
So stay with the normal .sikuli folders, use the .bat to start the IDE and open your scripts from the open menu in the IDE.

If you want to run the scripts without opening the IDE, use the Sikuli-
IDE-w.bat together with your .sikuli.

--- How does that fix things???
The whole faq is about problems when restarting the IDE in different situations. The special "type("image.png") is about the fact, that Sikuli IDE on restart tries to open all scripts from the last session and prepare the image thumbnails. Exactly there is a problem with the released rc3, if an image does not exist.

--- Error messages
It is much easier to try to help you if you give more specific information. Just saying "I got a JAVA error" does not talk to any of us.
Just past at least the first few lines of the message and a copy of the script.

Really hope, you get it running.
