I guess, we have to live with the current weakness of Sikuli's tesseract
implementation. There are some plans to step up to tesseract 3.0 and to
implement the learning feature, but that is in an early state.

The text search interface is not in a shape, that would allow to easily
integrate another OCR system. But in general, it is possible of course,
if you look into the source and find the places where you could replace
tesseract features by another system.
