.png should work.

What happens if you use the Preview feature on a captured image (click
on thumbnail)?

What version do you decided to use?

if it is version 1.1.0, you might run your script from command line
using

runsikulix.cmd -d 3 -c -r yourscript.sikuli

this produces some debug output, that might help.
