I am only used to using targetOffset() in such cases, instead of
calculating a relative click point.

as mentioned in comment #2:
I cannot reproduce your problem with version 1.1.0 neither on Mac nor on Windows 8-64 (cannot test on Linux currently).
Running Java 8.

So please give me the exact configuration, where this happens.
Are you using fullscreen mode?
