Re: vaio z nvidia
Excellent. It works now.
Here once again all steps (just as discribed by Alexandre) in case anyone else needs it:
$sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst
In the kernel line add "acpi=ht"
Reboot into WinXP
Reboot into Linux
Done.
