Hi Danilo,

thanks for the hint. It actually was the switch-to-x script. A "killall" on it reduced my cpu-usage from 60% on each processor to an accumulated usage of 10% on both.
switch-to-x must therefore run in circles on my system for some reason.
@Raphael: Any ideas what I could have done wrong? What nvidia-drivers are you using, and how did you install them.
I should not forget to thank you for writing the script in the first place. I especially like the fact, that once I get it running, it will update automatically.
