Why did you install on X86 32 bit?
My suggestion was, to (re)install everything with Kubuntu for AMD64
instead of Kubuntu for 386, like - I suppose - nearly everybody does.
You have a 64 bit processor so why not install a 64 bit OS and use all
the available resources?
Please don't misunderstand me! One may have its own reason(s) to use the
386 platform. But the 64 bit kernel is not realy slower than the 32 bit.
You can run every software at all, it is beside the 386 platform the
best supported one.
PAE in my eyes is only for 32 Hardware when no 64 OS is possible (36
bit.
Just my 2cents, just a suggestion.
