I have a qualcomm card (Bus 001 Device 004: ID 05c6:9221 Qualcomm, Inc.)
in my VAIO Z690 and the 0.9np3 seems to turn it on/off via rfkill 
already. I have not tried to use it yet so maybe I am missing the point? 
it disappears from lsusb when I echo 0 to the rfkill entry named 
'sony-wwan' it and reappears when I echo 1

# cat /sys/class/rfkill/*/name
sony-wifi
sony-bluetooth
sony-wwan
phy0
hci0
# modinfo -Fversion sony-laptop
0.9np3dev
# uname -r
2.6.31-ARCH
