I tried booting with Kubuntu 10.04, graphics switch in the stamina position 
(since Adam had mentioned Intel in the context of Kubuntu).  After a splash 
screen with distorted colors, I am greeted with a black screen.  There is a 
green light on next to "speed" even though the switch is not in that 
position.  Maybe Kubuntu tries to use Nvidia and fails.
