Hi Laurent / everybody,
Could you / anyone else for whom grub1 works
(/ideally/ someone with a Sony VPCZ12 notebook and 1080 panel)
send me your / their menu.lst config from grub-1?
Here`s my information (menu.lst + fstab + dmraid -r), Intel support
working on a raid-0 with kernel 2.6.35-rc6-vaioz, but intel driver
replaced with this one [1] (thanks a lot Adam ;))
Note: parameter acpi_backlight=vendor is to have brightness keys working
with the intel card.

Because I am working with grub2 guys to figure out why grub2 does not
work and grub1 works - and I don't succeed yet to install grub1
(probably because I don't use the dmraid -f imsm, but mdadm for my intel
bios-support sw-raid (aka fakeraid;)).
That would be great.
Thanks!

Ok,
2.6.35.4 with grub 1 makes the intel chip work.

Hi,
I'm running grub2 for now, that's why I'm experiencing hog& black
screen (under 2.6.36-rc3).
Will tru to revert to grub 1.

Hi,
with the BIOS Patch (VGA Switching set to static) and booting from grub
instead of grub2, 2.6.32, 2.6.33, 2.6.34 and 2.6.35 all work fine here.
Just 2.6.36 (and using grub2) is causing problems.

Is there a cumulative patch of the required patchs ?

There is currently a bug in the intel 915 drm kernel code that
prevents
things from working smoothly on recent kernels. Several non-official
patches are out there. Intel is working on it.

At the moment the tickets assigned intel developer is waiting for his
own Sony VAIO Z series notebook with dual graphics :)

Hi,
I'm trying to setup my Z12 under debian SID.
The nvidia card works so far (though no brightness control).
The intel chip just gives either black screen or screen with 4 green
lines and nothing more.
Did one of you manage to use the intel chip on this machine with a
recent kernel ?
Thanks
Laurent
