Re: INTEL card issues on Sony Vaio VPC Z12 / 2.6.36-rc

Hi,

Thanks for your support so far.

Interestingly I was not able to reproduce the grub1 is working
phenomenon by using a grub1 based boot cd (Super Grub Disk) :(
And am still hesitating to switch to dmraid ;)

-->

New approach: To prove if this is true:
"Grub1 may well leave the gpu in a different state"

Could someone be so kind to send me the output of the intel_reg_dumper,
after booting from grub1 and BEFORE modprobe i915 and drm (so ideally
put the intel_reg_dumper in your initrd... but unfortunately it has some
library dependencies)?

Like this I could compare the registers of the GPU between grub1 and grub2.

Here is what you would need to do to get the
	git clone git://anongit.freedesktop.org/xorg/app/intel-gpu-tools
	cd intel-gpu-tools
	./configure
	make
	./tools/intel_reg_dumper

Thanks a lot!

Knuth
