That has been working for me since the beginning. The even easier way to do it is to make sure radeon is blacklisted and make sure the acpiphp module is loaded at boot (you don't really need to load it at boot but it's easy to add it to the explicit list of loaded modules). It would handle the pcie hotplug events and you won't have to force a pci rescan.

The catch is that the USB hub won't work and since the video card doesn't work then the only usable devices are the network card and DVD. The hub is affected by some bug in the pci hotplug that I haven't had the time to deal with.
