Hey,

No problems here with 12.10 desktop on my VPCZ13. I use the following 
extra packages:

bumblebee - for realtime powering down NVidia GPU and running optirun 
command to enable GPU for some games.
fingerprint-gui - for fingerprint support (sudo using your finger).
