Evan Boldt is still having a problem:
That's a very good problem that I didn't think of. I noticed that
youtube is now allowing new videos to be 'high quality' videos, but even
then i have my doubts that it would meet the quality needs.

Perhaps a combination of 1&3. Encourage people to post their video to
(video site), embed that in the node for previews, and have a download
link to a second external site with the unmodified video file.
