Hi again Rico,
I've updated the package and it builds really nice now in Debian:
http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/synapse.git/
I have no Ubuntu at hand so I don't know if it builds there,
but I'll prepare a pbuilder for it tomorrow and try it out.
I'll try to push the package to Debian once again at the same time.
