You forgot to comment on the terminal emulators. I think sakura might be
a good alternative (according to my short test, I suggest you try it too).

OK, it is possible to use xedit for basic editing, and since it comes
with another tool, so no extra cost, it is OK.

And don't forget nano (re-install to make it work in the live session).
It works in the installed system. I use it a lot. I think many people do.
