Hi again Israel, Jack and everybody else,
Sorry for creating so much fuzz about the lack of grub menuentries for
other installed systems. I think I know what has been happening.
Anyway, first I'll tell you what I did differently this time: I moved
the SSD from an external USB 3 box to the internal bay in my Toshiba
laptop. And I repeated what I did this morning and earlier, except that
I quit from the OBI, transferred the obi-installer log file and rebooted.
This time it worked well. In all cases there were good grub.cfg files,
also with the user-config call moved to line 221 and when I ran mkpxpy.
I suspect that the USB 3 system (either the external box or the system
in the computer) is getting flaky. It used to be reliable, but now it
seems not recognize the drive properly during the chroot operations of
the OBI and/or during the boot process. But the system including
update-grub still works from USB 3 when booted from it.
So I think this problem is pretty much localized to my Toshiba computer,
and we should not continue debugging ToriOS in order to solve it.
-o-
I have not tested rebooting directly from the OBI into the installed
system again, but since Jack had also issues connected to it, I still
think it is an issue independent of my flaky USB 3 system.
Best regards
Nio
