Hi Ali (inlines)
Hi,
Still, it should never be named "RC" unless the progress has entered or reached the RC stage :)On 06/12/2015 12:51 AM, Ali Linx wrote:Hi everyone, Looking at this table: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/VividVervet/ReleaseSchedule You will notice these milestones: 1. Alpha 1 2. Alpha 2 3. Beta 1 4. Beta 2 5. RC (Release Candidate) https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReleaseCandidateFrom my humble personal opinion, from my understanding after spending 5 years with Ubuntu (and flavors) testing, I think (and I could be wrong) that RC = Release Candidate = is the final milestone for the release cycle when the software/system is 99%-100% ready to be released and all what is needed to be done is 'final' testing. That said, calling the latest build a Release Candidate (RC) is a bad move, IMHO.Ali, we have not released the RC. Beta is in beta status. So I decided to make a new ISO file for the upcoming RC.The ISO available is not the released RC. We are doing builds to create the RC. It is not the Release Candidate, (there have been no public posts about this), but it is easier to zsync if we keep the same file name throughout the build process. So, the RC filename is there to be different from the Beta file.
If you want to rename the file until we have the fully working RC we can.
Yes please, kindly rename it as Beta and there should be only one Beta ISO showing here with its MD5SUM:

http://phillw.net/isos/torios/While I admit I have very limited time to spare for anything beside Real Life, ToriOS is a child that I care about a lot so if none of you have any objection, may I please be in charge of the release and the milestone, etc? all what is required is: I test the latest build and then discuss with Israel whether to call it a milestone (Alpha, Beta, RC) or just a daily build? I am sure I have explained that before but I hope you don't mind and you may consider this as a gentle reminder :)If you doubt my QA skills, I can prove you wrong :P hehe just kidding :DLet me know what do you think? what I am asking here is very very simple and less confusing to everyone!Thank you! -- Ali/amjjawad https://wiki.ubuntu.com/amjjawadThanks!
P.S. What about the release manager/QA Lead?
