Hi again everybody,
I forgot to mention that there is a special procedure to install mkusb
to debian via the unstable ppa, described at
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/mkusb/install-to-debian
and modified (mkusb/ppa-->mkusb/unstable)
In a terminal window or text screen, run a simple text editor for example
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
and add the line
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/mkusb/unstable/ubuntu trusty main
Save the file.
Then make the system aware of the PPA (update) and install mkusb
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install mkusb
There might be complaints about security, but should work anyway (and
when the stable ppa will be updated, this is not an issue).
Best regards
Nio
