v83 testing in VB Re: JSM 2 update (as well as minor ToriOS stuff update)

Hi Israel,

Updated Debian in VB to v83...

1) Rt-click on desktop and clicking on 'Add new items to Desktop' did nothing.

2) Clicking on 'Desktop Preferences' from App -> Settings did nothing.

Cheers,

JackT.

Thanks for these details, Israel :-)

I have another question too (very basic about where to start).

Can I start with (which would you expect to work)

- ToriOS 1.0 live
- ToriOS 1.0 installed
- ToriOS daily live (debian)
- ToriOS daily installed (debian)
- Debian Jessie (stable)
- Debian Stretch (testing)
- Debian Sid (unstable)
- Ubuntu 14.04.1 (trusty kernel)
- Ubuntu 14.04.5 (xenial kernel)
- Ubuntu 16.04.1 (xenial kernel)

and where is it best to start testing (what will be best for testing
what you want us to test)?

Best regards
Nio

Hey all,

I discovered some serious issues in the autostart program. Things were not working correctly, but I have since fixed them, and it should work fine now.

This will be in revision 83.

I have gotten to the point where I have all the backend code to make the XDG portion work, HOWEVER.... I need to learn about pkexec and make pkexec launch desktop-file-editor in order to edit desktop files. This is needed because the files are owned by root and require administrator access to edit them.

This is something for later down the line somewhere around 2.1.0

But for now regular JWM autostart works well, and reliably.
