Hi Ali,

Hello dear friend and brother,

it isn't the latest version, but it is a more recent build.
The versions or the numbering of the versions need to be corrected :D but never mind that at the moment ;)

Okay, I expected I am not using the latest but still, that experience was great. Thanks a lot for that :D

I am going to be testing one and I'll upload the new one soon, once I fix some issues with udiskie and get OBI to install grub (when the tar has nothing in /boot/grub this is fixed by running grub-install and update-grub)

How are you addressing the bugs aside from emails on this list and/or IRC maybe?

Why not we use Launchpad for that? reporting bugs to Launchpad, just like Ubuntu and the other flavors do?

It would be much better for everyone.

If we can't use Launchpad for whatever reason, I am sure we could use something else ..

udiskie is the program I am using to allow users to easily mount devices (CD/USB/DVD) and access them I have been having a bit of an issue with dbus and glib... I think I am missing a dependency, or have done something in a slightly off order.
But I am getting closer.

I am sure you are ;)

To get internet you will have to do it manually until I upload a new ISO.

open a terminal
sudo usermod -a -g netdev torios
will give you the right permissions to remove that error.

No. I am afraid that did not help at all.

It did not accept "-g" so I replaced it with "-G" as it suggested but still, that didn't help.

My goal is to have a system that is as easy to use as possible... after all Ubuntu was started to be 'Linux for human beings'.
So I am trying to do all the hard work tweaking everything.

There is no doubt we can do that and there is no doubt you are doing that already. ToriOS is between safe hands :D

Who knows? maybe ToriOS could be easier and better than any other system .. why not? who expected that we could achieve all that? when I said let's have something below 70MB RAM, I told myself after that: "Hey, are you crazy?" now, reality says: we have achieved even better :D

It is however will not be done over night. We have no magic stick. It will take sometime and we can wait.

btw, the new version has seamonkey instead of Midori (small screen issue with midori) but also includes links2, which is a dialog based browser... It is very fast for text, but can also show images as well... not a full featured browser, but good for old computers as a back-up, or for quick info lookup, and it is a bit more user friendly compared to lynx or some of the other terminal only browsers.

You do read my minds :D
While I was away, I used to read some emails whenever possible. I wanted to ask you guys to use/include two Browsers instead of one only. Luckily, you read my mind and you did it without me asking for it :D haha

However, not really sure about the choice here but I will leave it for you. Maybe Firefox (for example) is too much for ToriOS. After all, the idea is to build the system by the user so .. no problems unless these choices will cause problems/bugs ..

Don't worry I am getting closer every day to making a really useful Tori OS.
Me? worried? you are kidding, right? :D

I am not worried at all ... but tell you the truth, I can't wait :D

I will be updating the scripts on github soon when I get certain things worked out better :D

Is there any way that when a bug got fixed or an update available, I can just update the system without re-installing and re-downloading the whole thing again? or we have not reached that far yet?!

Thanks a lot for everything!

By the way, the ISO I downloaded is from the website .. It doesn't seem the latest one as far as I can tell..

I got a tty and browser is still Midori.

Am I using the latest build?

Thank you!

Haha, hello my friend and everyone :D

Okay, very quick feedback from my mobile:

(1) mousepad does not do anything if I double click. I can only use the left and right clicks.

(2) when I logged in, got this error: see attached.

This is quick feedback.

I can't run the network manager or wicd :(
