Message #00203
[Bug 1340991] [NEW] [VPCZ11QGX, Realtek ALC889, Speaker, Internal] No sound at all
Public bug reported:
This *may* be related to Bug #960124, which looks similar. But I didn't
want to assume that, since I am running a different version of Ubuntu
(13.10), and the computer is a Sony VPC-Z11QGX/S.
alsa-base:
Installed: 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu4
Candidate: 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu4
Version table:
*** 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu4 0

pulseaudio:
Installed: 1:4.0-0ubuntu6
Candidate: 1:4.0-0ubuntu6
Version table:

Audio does indeed play through the headphones, but does not play at all
through the main speakers.
I have force-reloaded ALSA, as well as purging and reinstalling alsa-
base and pulseaudio, just in case something had gotten out of whack. But
this has not had any effect.
