[Bug 1440938] [NEW] [EMU10K1 - SB Live! 5.1 [SB0220], playback] volume slider problem

Public bug reported:

After installing Ubuntu 15.04, the sound settings do not control any of
the player settings. It starts out at the highest volume and there is no
way to lower the volume without going into the settings to find another
way. But, this changes on every login. Sometimes the systems runs for a
little while ( about 20 mins.), then it begins to freeze. Especially
while installing updates. Rebooting will start the system again, but the
same thing continues.
