Re: [Bug 1440938] Re: [EMU10K1 - SB Live! 5.1 [SB0220], playback] volume slider problem

Thank you Raymond. I have since reinstalled 14.04, as 14.10 and 15.04 wore me out. I will try again maybe next week. The audio issue is bound to be fixable with some patience, but the freezing after updates, maybe just my systems lack of resources, and then it is a beta. Once again, I am having fun.
Thank you,
Marque

Title:
[EMU10K1 - SB Live! 5.1 [SB0220], playback] volume slider problem

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
After installing Ubuntu 15.04, the sound settings do not control any
of the player settings. It starts out at the highest volume and there
is no way to lower the volume without going into the settings to find
another way. But, this changes on every login. Sometimes the systems
runs for a little while ( about 20 mins.), then it begins to freeze.
Especially while installing updates. Rebooting will start the system
again, but the same thing continues.
