[Bug 1427795] Re: the lock screen/log out window is stuck rendering desktop unusable

I don't know how I could reproduce this consistently, but I'm affected
by this bug. Shortly after encountering it I had a crash that seemed to
restart the display manager/X entirely, so I'm sure state was lost, but
if there's any information on what to do to properly gather information
on a bug like this I'd be happy to help.

Title:
the lock screen/log out window is stuck rendering desktop unusable

Status in Unity:
  Confirmed
Status in unity package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
After locking the screen via ctrl-alt-del, upon unlocking it, the "Hi
$user, you have open files that you might want to save before logging
out" is stuck in the middle of the screen. It will not close or allow
typing in any window. The only way out is to kill the X server or
reboot the machine losing all open work.
