Actually, I managed to answer my own questions. The details of the
stackexchange API (on which Ask Ubuntu runs) are here:
https://api.stackexchange.com/

It looks like it uses an app key so it would probably be useful to get
one for Ubuntu accomplishments.

The forums run on vBulletin for which there is also an API:
