Re: New research project ....

Shouldn't we have a set of defoned questions and parameters for the report?

If we do not have that then you really cannot call this research. It would
rather be a experiment...

A google form with some quick questions AND a direct interview would
make, much more sense, it seems to me.

I have been wrong before, this is just an idea :)

No particular questions - just a willing volunteer or volunteers, a
minimum of help from you and a candid report on the problems the
volunteer experienced and how they handled them (if they handled them)!
There's been some work along these lines, and the main points are lack
of accessibility because the user can't understand the help and the
forums.

In the exercise, attempt to get into the mindset of a newbie user and
report back giving his/her point of view. In a nutshell, we need to see
ourselves as others see us and make changes to out 'shop window'. Our
target audience is someone who regularly uses a computer with an
operating system such as Windows or MacOS. How does s/he react when
exposed to Ubuntu for the first time?

Kind regards, Barry.
