As long as we don't spend too long discussing. We need to decide
fairly quickly because there's still a lot of work to be done
regardless of which format is chosen.  The toolchain needs to be set
up and the current text needs to be converted to the new format.  Then

I've updated the LaTeX section.

the page says native source format of LaTeX is Unicode. I thought it was not because when writers added non-ASCII chars, the build broke and I replaced them. can you elaborate?
