If you manually compiled the rt2860sta.ko module from Ralink, it'll
likely be missing the component that allows for both WEP and WPA
encryption. However, my copy in the kernel has this patch, so it should
work with either networks.

The Ubuntu Kernel team is in the midst of including this driver natively
in Intrepid, however it might not pass a code audit. There are some
concerns over the quality of the code that was distributed by Ralink.

I know this doesn't help you, but the problem is being addressed
upstream.
