I applied the "solution" described in bug #261141, which includes
copying the two new scripts to the acpi folder. If you now press fn+f2,
it shows the "asus" gui which tells that WLAN is off, but it has no
effect. But at least the system doesn't crash/freezes. Hope someone can
deliver a working solution. That's the only "feature" which is missing
in my installation...
