[Question #47154]: Can't install from USB on Eee 1000H
New question #47154 on Ubuntu Eee:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-eee/+question/47154
I've just got an Eee 1000H, and I'm keen to replace Xandros with Ubuntu. I followed the instructions here, transferring the Ubuntu ISO to a USB stick using UNetbootin on my WinXP box (I had problems doing this on my Eee, "GLIBC_2.4 not found", which I couldn't solve - I'm pretty new to Linux).
UNetbootin seemed to work find on WinXP. When I plugged the stick into my Eee, rebooted and pressed Esc twice during boot, I got the boot options menu, which included my USB stick. But when I select it, it just carries on through with the Xandros boot as normal.
Is there anything I can do to verify the ISO has been properly transferred to the stick? Any other ideas welcome...
