Hi Bob,

Getting into my eeePC 901's BIOS is a tad tricky, just because it boots
so fast. :) But the steps to follow are essentially as follows:

1. Shut down the laptop or reboot it.
2. Power it on and without waiting for the startup screen to come on, keep tapping the F2 key. This is the trickiest step of them all, really, because you only have a split second to do this, so it's best to just keep tapping F2 while the laptop boots. If you get into the OS simply restart and try again. It's best to tap F2 when the laptop screen is blank just BEFORE the "Starting System" message comes on.
3. Hopefully that will land you in the BIOS. Unfortunately I can't take a screenshot, since the BIOS loads before Linux. The BIOS is usually has a grey background with text in black, dark grey and blue. There is also a blue border around each screen and right on top it should say something like "BIOS SETUP UTILITY".
4. Once you're in the bios, you can use the left and right keys to navigate across the various tabs. The tabs are usually "Main", "Advanced", "Security", "Boot" and "Exit". Navigate over to the "Advanced" tab.
5. The screen should change and present you with a couple of options, including "HDD Configuration", "Onboard Devices Configuration" and "CPU Configuration". Select "Onboard Devices Configuration" by using the up/down arrow keys and pressing ENTER when it's highlighted.
6. Once in the Onboard Device Config screen you should see several options, including "Onboard Camera". It's generally a good idea to enable all of them (again, highlight the device in question, hit ENTER and select the option in question.
7. When you're happy with the settings, hit ESC until you're back in the main menu. This time go to the "Exit" tab on the top and select "Exit and Save Changes". Alternatively you should also be able to hit F10 at any point which should prompt you whether or not you want to save configuration options and exit.
8. At this point the laptop will reboot. If you were successful in enabling the web cam, you're done. If not, once the system boots, reboot it and try again, paying special attention to step 2.

I have yet to try this myself on the eeePC 901, but given people's
reports on the forums and elsewhere I'm pretty confident this should get
the trick done. Hopefully this works for you.
