Re: identifying obstacles in ubuntu gaming and pushing it forwards

No, we do not need a gaming framework (as in one). We already have several.

Microsoft works on the principle of "One Microsoft Way". We do not, and
that is the strength of software freedom. We produce better software
through cooperative competition, not committee.

Diversity is the fuel of evolution.

Our role as a subteam of Ubuntu marketing is to develop material to help
promote Ubuntu as a gaming platform, encourage LoCos to run LAN parties, and
potentially work with upstream game projects to increase the experience of
Ubuntu users.

Our role is not to develop or package software. There are other groups
doing software development, there are other teams handling packaging, there
are other projects for gaming standards in the free software universe.
