Re: Nice Ubuntu mention in October QST

Petr, I setup the LoTW feature of CQRlog and after the first time
through (the tricky part was getting the TQSL station name just right),
it has been flawless. I just finished uploading my old logs from my
previous call from 1984 through 1998 and it sped up the process
considerably.

I can also report that the Master Keyer 1 from Hamgadgets.com works
flawlessly with the WinKeyer support. I used it to work OX/OK1JST the
other evening using CQRlog.

I am definitely a cheerleader for your program. I am now using it for
the packet cluster and band map. Hopefully, you won't mind me filing
bug reports. :)

It's good to hear that you've received reports that some hams are
switching to a Linux distribution to use CQRlog. Indeed, I there is
another op not far from here, also a K3 owner, who asked me about a
Linux distribution for his Acer netbook. I think he went with Ubuntu
but was having trouble using the N3FJP logger. I advised that he would
likely need to install Wine first. I also mentioned that he look at
CQRlog to get away from issues with Wine and serial ports. I've not
heard back but he did say the distribution he was using is a "neat
system". We'll see how it goes with him.
