Mi samopinias. kaj mi "ĝismorte" :-) defendos la vorton "distribuo" aŭ eble "distribuaĵo".  Plej ofte temas pri nova  "varianto" de programo kiun oni publikigas. Mi opinias, ke oni ne inventu novajn terminojn, se jam troviĝas opurtunan vorton.  Do: eble temas pri "distribuvarianto".
