Re: Common Translations

 

So then, we are going with,
Mouse: माउस
KeyBoard: कीबोर्ड
Touchpad: टचपैड

Then, i guess the same should go for screen, desktop, domputer, other
peripherals and other words that pertain to the computing or multimedia
technology and are not common or non-existent in regular hindi. The
translation then would be limited to instructions and not creating new
tricky and toungue-twisting words. Should we make a list or trust our
instincts?
How about translation of phrases like 'system settings', 'pointing and
clicking' etc. 'Click' is tricky one, at some places it works just fine to
replacing it with 'दबाना', other times the only viable option seems to use
'क्लिक'. What would suggest to use in lieu of 'pointing/pointer' and
'hover/hovering' (as in hover click).
