Re: Chapter 6

 

Thanks for finding these Jae, i thought id sorted that problem out but obviously not. There is a note in there explaining that both terms are used interchangeably throughout but i think your idea is better, ill push some changes about this in a little while.

Hi Jae,
Thanks for picking this up, although I'm relatively sure we did make a comment somewhere early in that chapter that folder and directory are used interchangeably. If it's an in-text comment though you are right, might be better off as a margin note instead to make it more visible.


I'm at work at the moment so can't check this out but I'll have another look when I get home.

Possible sidebar text:



In GUI environments the term "folder" is commonly used to describe a

place where files are stored. In CLI environments the term "directory"

is used to describe the same thing and this metaphor is exposed in

many commands (i.e. "cd" or "pwd").
