Stepping Down

Hi team,

As another jam-packed academic term looms on the horizon, I believe
it's time for me to admit -- not only to you but also to myself --
that I will no longer be able to assist the project. I will soon take
on a number of new, exciting endeavors as part of my doctoral studies,
and these will make writing and editing for the manual rather
difficult for me.

My decision to cease contributing to the project was not an easy one
to make. In recent months especially, the project has seen renewed
interest that has reinvigorated it and made me optimistic about its
future. However, I believe now is the best time to silently disengage,
as we are ready to begin another productive and successful cycle and
someone else can more easily assume my responsibilities on "Learning
More."

I have been with the project since it produced its first edition in
2010. By contributing to the manual, I learned not only about Ubuntu,
but also about contributing to open source projects in general (the
Ubuntu Manual Project was the first project to which I'd ever
contributed). I'd like to extend many thanks to my editor, Hannie, who
has been an absolute pleasure to work with, and to Kevin, who has also
been with the project since its inception and has been beyond kind to
me, particularly as I struggled to fall in step with this
rapidly-moving team.

I wish you all the very best--not only with this project, but in all
else you do.

Sincerely,
Bryan
