Kevin answered your question about the errors above. Try running 

sudo apt-get install ttf-linux-libertine 

and see if it's installed. If not, then it will be, and you should be
able to make the manual. Plus, for you (or me for that matter), it
probably doesn't matter about the font (as long as the manual gets
created and you can proofread your section). That's more an issue for
Kevin and Hannie, as one of them will be creating the final version
(IMHO).
