Although I forgot to reply to your message (sorry for that!), I didn't forget to work on the French translation and on the screenshots. Almost all of the new strings have been translated, I just don't know what to do for two of them for which I've filed these bugs:
* Incorrect description of installation via terminal (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-manual/+bug/1613519)
* What is this "Library"? (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-manual/+bug/1612027)
I've filed another bug about how to download Ubuntu, but I've found a workaround for a good translation:
