[Bug 1357490] Re: Prevent login as same user on multiple seats by default

I find this an important issue. Many programs like Chrome and others do
not play well when run more than once per $HOME as they use SQLite DB
files internally.

Ideally of course logging into another seat with a user who has a
session locked somewhere else would just "pull" that session, but I
guess that X does not support such a thing.

Title:
Prevent login as same user on multiple seats by default

Status in Light Display Manager:
  Triaged

Bug description:
It would be nice if LightDM has the capablity (mandatory or optional)
to prevent a same user from logging in on multiple seats.

We know it can be done system-wide by setting "maxlogins" to 1 in file
/etc/security/limits.conf, but this setting will affect not only
graphical logins, but also console and SSH logins. A proper solution
for graphical logins only is preferable.
