Next week is Maori Language Week in New Zealand - I thought it might
be a nice goal to get some Ubuntu translations done.

There are many simple, everyday words and phrases that still need
translating - the kind of words and phrases that will be highlighted
during the week or could easily be found using an online dictionary:
"left", "right", "examples", "print", "mail", "calendar", days of the
week - that sort of thing.

We have plenty of small templates suitable for casual, one-time-only
contributions: example-content, human-theme, indicator-me and
indicator-sound are good examples of this kind of thing - these need 5
or less translations apiece; that's just one a day for complete
coverage!

To make a bigger splash, have a look at templates like gtk, nautilus,
or gdm - these have a lot of the common, everyday words needing
translation in them (though you may have to either browse or use the
search box to find the easy ones since they're often mixed in with
hundreds of harder to translate error messages). For example, the gtk
template contains all the stock menu and button entries ("Add",
"Remove", "Print Preview", "OK", "Cancel", etc..) used by hundreds of
dialogs, menus, and applications throughout Ubuntu.

translating using the web interface.
