Re: social application support and user interface

 

Novacut has been working on something like this for a while now to make
collaborative video editing seemless, and we would love it if real-time
sync capabilities were integrated with Ubuntu One.  I'll write up more
later, but the gist is that each client app takes its state from a database
that is synchronized in real time, so that when you make a change in one
client, the changes are replicated through the database and all the other
clients can see that change.  So far this has been very effective for our
use and seems like it might fit the bill for many other cases.
