[Development] Will need help improving the bluetooth story
Hi all,
I've been spending the past few days on getting bluetooth to work on the
Touch Preview. It's pretty much working since this afternoon, and I expect
the necessary fixes to land in the daily image any time now.
I filmed my tablet and driving it with a mouse:

I also tried a bluetooth headset, didn't get much luck in just five
minutes; I also tried to pair my bluetooth keyboard, but unfortunately it
tends to crash bluez -- I'll investigate what's happening with that.
So I'd love to get more stories about how well bluetooth works with your
own devices, and there will be the need to develop an indicator for
bluetooth pairing, etc. All of that pretty much running of Bluez, and using
its DBus interface.
For the daring, you'll be able to play with bluetooth hopefully as soon as
bluetoothd lands in a daily image along with brcm-patchram-plus-nexus7, and
you can use the test utilities provided with bluez itself to do pairing and
device connections:
bzr branch ubuntu:bluez ; cd bluez/test
./test-discovery # should return nearby devices
./test-device create <ADDR> # connect to a device using its bluetooth
address
./test-device remove <ADDR> # remove a device
./test-input connect <ADDR> # connect to use input
./test-audio connect <ADDR> #connect to use audio...
You could also install gnome-control-center and gnome-bluetooth from the
archive to get to use the usual GUIs for configuring devices.
